Now, in this part of the test, I’m going to give each of you a choice of 3 topics. I’d like you to choose one of the topics and give a short presentation on it for about a minute. You will have about a minute to prepare for this and you can make notes if you wish while you prepare. After you have finished your talk, your partner will ask you a question.
All right? Here are your topics.

    Playing background music is a common practice in the stores.
    It has a power effect on those who hear it. But only light music has an effect on sales. This is probably because shoppers slow down to choose items and they would like to buy when they hear slow music. It is common sense that a customer tends not to buy something he or she really needs if the background music is fast. Because they feel uncomfortable and want to leave as soon as possible.
Interlocutor:

    With the rapid growth of modern cities, urban vegetation has been greatly reduced. But vegetation is essential to the living of people. Green plants provide fresh air and can reduce air pollution. Besides, they can beautify a city. We should look upon nature as our closest friend. Protecting the environment is our duty. I think we must take immediate measures to fight against environmental destruction and protect our nature.
Interlocutor:
