Now, in this part of the test, I’m going to give each of you a choice of 3 topics. I’d like you to choose one of the topics and give a short presentation on it for about a minute. You will have about a minute to prepare for this and you can make notes if you wish while you prepare. After you have finished your talk, your partner will ask you a question.
All right? Here are your topics.

Choose one of the topics to talk about. You can make notes.
[1 minute’s preparation time. Both candidates prepare their talks at the same time, separately.]
Interlocutor: All right now. Candidate B, which topic have you chosen?

    Internet has many advantages and will be more and more important in every aspects of society. It allows you to communicate with people all over the world. Thanks to the Internet, a world of information is just a click away. You may improve your school reports by searching for information on the Internet without stepping outside. It is merely opening a gateway to an abundant source of information. Internet is making our world smaller and improving the unification of global economy in a quick pace.
Interlocutor:
Thank you. Now, Candidate A, please ask Candidate B your question about his/her talk.
[Candidate A asks a question.]
    Have you noticed any disadvantages of Internet?
[Candidate B replies]
    Internet has many disadvantages as well as advantages. You may become socially isolated. Mang people, especially the young, make friends over the Internet. They chat with them whenever they are free, thus paying little attention to the family and friends in the real world. Another bad thing is some children may have access to the scenes of violence and sex on the Internet. Newpapers often report that children who are indulging in Internet steal money and even rob someone of money.
Interlocutor:
Thank you. All right. Now, Candidate A, which topic have you chosen?

    In my opinion, in order to make sure the target of a training programme realized, you should firstly choose the subject of the training programme that is suitable and practical, and that can help improve the staff’s knowledge, skills or abilities. Then, you’d better inform the staff before the training programme what they should learn from it and what improve they could have after the programme. After the programme, you can have a test on your staff to check if they have really benefited from the training programme.
