    Nowadays there is a wide-spread of drugs. Not only in western countries, but also in China now more and more people, especially the young, of different sexes and colors, with distinctive beliefs, no matter how rich or poor they arc, arc taking drugs. Even the celebrity such as Mara- dora, the excellent football player, is also a drug addict. Drugs are becoming an epidemic all over the world.
    There is no doubt that drugs bring many risks. While permanent ill health remains, job-loss (unemployment) occurs, break-up of families and relationships follows. Disease like AIDS prevails and even death befalls. As to the society, drugs will surely cause great waste and squander, and thus become the obstacles to the economic development and social progress. And where drugs go, crime follows. Therefore, drugs do real harm to both people and society.
    In my opinion, drugs may even drive the children to be homeless, to be the followers and copiers, and to be the participators. More important, people’s moral character may be spoiled. We should fight a war against drug-growers, manufacturers, couriers and smugglers, wholesalers and street dealers. We must punish the drug-users and cure them as well. Only when a war should be deelared on illegal drugs, can we really save the drug-addict mentally and materially, can we, to greatest extent, help the country avoid a disaster.
