    Western Development is now being highly regarded as the national policy (movement), which means more supports from the provisions of wealth to the West of China—an economically poor area. Not only do they need more advanced science and technology, but they also need great financial support. Most important of all, the talent will contribute a lot to the development of the West of China.
    As the tendency of social progress, the Western Development meets the requirements of both people and society. Through which, more fruits of science and technology will be tasted (appreciated) in production. More progresses will be made in economic activity. And people’s living standard will be greatly improved. What’s more, people can enjoy both a better school and a richer cultural life as the result of the Western Development.
    In my opinion, Western Development is of great significance.  More attentions, however, must be paid to it simultaneously. We should suit the assistance to the local condition. And we should also make full use of the support efficiently. Last but not feast, we should protect our environment as well to make it sustainable. We hold it evident that we should make a new myth, combining the myth of Sustainability and myth of Grand Narratives of Progress, as the guiding myth to make great progress. Only in this way, can we truly carry out the policy of Western Development, and bring prosperity to the West of China.
