In one of the deadliest days since the start of anti-government protests in Syria, activists say at least 100 people have been killed by security forces.(7)The surge in violence came on the eve of the deadline for troops to withdraw from Syrian towns and cities under an international peace plan. The violence also spilled across Syria’s borders with Turkey and Lebanon.
