答案                  A Voluntary Service Trip to A Poverty-Stricken Area
    Last summer vacation, we went on a two-week voluntary service trip to a small mountain village in a remote poverty-stricken area. We departed from our school in the early morning and arrived there after a whole day’s journey. Our primary task was to give instruction to the village school pupils. Therefore, apart from the necessary preparations for the stay there, we spent a great deal of time preparing the teaching materials and working out our teaching plans before the trip.
    Following the next day we arrived, we undertook the tusk well planned before. We were divided into three small groups, each of which took charge of one class with all the subjects involved. Besides teaching school pupils, we took this occasion to teach some villagers a lot of useful knowledge on farming and poultry raising.
    Despite the hardships and harsh living conditions there, the voluntary service trip benefits me a lot. The happy and smiling faces when I call back makes me aware what happiness really is. What’s more important, the distressing/poor living conditions there give me more sense of responsibility, inspiring me to work harder now in school and make more contributions to society in the future.
