    In recent years, more and more middle school students enroll to take part in art tests for the college entrance examination. Take Shanghai as an example. More than 20 thousand students there will take art tests this year, making the art tests a fashionable craze in Shanghai. What is to account for this enthusiasm for art tests?
    There are a couple of reasons booming this phenomenon. To start with, more and more students regard them as an instant way to become "an outstanding character" and think that arts are "easier to study" and "quicker to succeed" compared with other subjects. Therefore, those who are not good at other subjects change to take art tests as their way to success. Secondly, parents’ pressure becomes another key factor. Many parents force their children to study art since childhood, believing that art study will improve their children’s quality and will help them to find a good job in the future. Thirdly, our mass media should be responsible for the craze. From the media’s reports, people realize a "fact" that artists can enjoy better life and payment without doing any hard work.
    In my point of view, students should remain calm to this phenomenon. Art is a branch of science and should be taken seriously. We cannot benefit from it if we are not well prepared.
