答案 The table presents information about the number of travellers in three British airports, namely Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted, from 2005 to 2010. Overall, the three airports got more air travellers in later years and Gatwick airport had the largest number of passengers on an average.
According to the table, around 27 million travellers used Heathrow airport in the year 2005 while Gatwick got the maximum number of travellers in this year which was more than 36 million. Stansted airport, on the other hand, received the lowest number of passengers which was about 17 million. Over the years the number of passengers in these three airports increased gradually with the exception of Heathrow airport where visiting passengers’ number decreased in 2008 and 2009. In 2007, Heathrow airport got the highest number of passengers which was more than 48 million compared with about 44 million and 40 million in the other two airports. But after that the number of visiting passengers in Heathrow airport decreased to as low as 33.2 million in 2009 compared with more than approximately 51 million and 43 million in Gatwick and Stansted airports respectively. Finally in 2010 the passenger number in Gatwick was largest (more than 69 million) against the approximately 45 million and 43 million passengers in the other two airports.
