Dear sir,
This letter is in response to your advertisement in the Monday, January 31, New York Times.
I believe that I may have the qualifications you are seeking. I have worked in advertising for six years, beginning as a secretary and working my way up to my current position as an administrative assistant with a major Madison Avenue Agency. My responsibilities include preparing dossiers (档案材料) on clients and product research, typing and light editing of progress reports, and client contact, primarily by telephone. Although I am happy with my current position, I am seeking a position that will afford me greater opportunity for client-liaison (客户联络) work.
If you feel that I have the experience and skills you require, I would very much like to meet with you personally to discuss the job. I am enclosing a copy of my resume, which further details my work experience. I look forward to meeting with you.
Sincerely,
Jeanne Howell
