I’ve been teaching English in Beijing for several years. I’ve found life here is convenient. When you go to stores, restaurants or banks, it is far more likely you’ll encounter someone who can speak English. They’re always ready to help you communicate. Another great thing about Beijing is its transport system. You’d think that it’d be difficult to get from one place to another in a city of over 20 million people! But I actually prefer to travel around in Beijing than in London! The subway is excellent—super clean; regular trains have air conditioning. The stations all have English names and are easy to read—you really can’t get lost here!
