After-sale service is an important aspect for the growth of a business and I’m happy to have the chance to describe an experience related to it.
Very recently, I’ve bought an iPhone 7. As an iOS user over the past couple years, I know the functions and features of an iPhone well. Unluckily, my iPhone 7 wasn’t responding to some of the features. I tried to reset the phone but it was in vain. The point where I can get an after-sale service is just a few blocks away from my house. So, it’s not difficult for me to reach there. Besides, before going there, I made a phone call to give them a heads-up about my problem. The customer service invited me over for a cup of coffee and also assured me that the matter would be discussed with me in person. So I went. I reached the point just before its closing. After hearing everything from me, the workers checked the phone set and found out that it was the manufacturing error. So they agreed to change a completely new one for me.
I’m now living in the UK as an exchange student and I realize how difficult it is to have a very attentive and efficient after-sale service in the UK. Many companies only pay attention to their new clients and spend less time to attend to the old ones. But Apple Inc. is different. The company really excels at dealing with customers. I’ve had some negative experiences about the after-sale service of Samsung. I once complained to them about my phone running out of power too fast, but they didn’t even bother to reply to my complaint and the phone still remains unused at my home. So, I consider Apple’s after-sale service effective. I hope such a good service will go on always.
I’ve seen a good number of films but none of them is so inspiring like the film 12 Angry Men which is about a trial where a slum boy is alleged to kill his father. There’re 12 jurors assigned to run the trial and come to a verdict. But at a certain point, one of the jurymen gets dubious about whether the boy has actually killed his father and so he pleads the case of the boy. The Jurors are divided into two sides and after lots of hot words and logical exchanges, all of them finally vote the boy as not guilty.
I watched the film again in 2010 when I was on a business trip to Delhi. I had to travel on the train for two days, so to kill some time, I saw a film on my laptop. I was travelling with my team, but none of them seemed interested in the film. So, I just watched it alone. It was a boon for me because the compartment was too noisy, and I couldn’t have heard the dialogues clearly if I had had to share the headphone. As a result, I comfortably enjoyed the film.
The reason why I’d like to see the film again is that I think there’s something the scriptwriter tries to convey but I didn’t quite get it then. The first time I watched the film, I simply enjoyed the plot which is very special and dramatic. Though this is a thriller, I think the dramatic elements are more engrossing. But then I thought about it. The slum boy, who was wronged at the first place by those indifferent and pretentious people, is finally proved innocent. The story line must try to deliver some sort of social messages and I can hardly tell what it is. So, I think I should see the film again to have a better understanding.
