Which airline was Jacky complaining about? [br]
Bessy: Hi, Jacky! What a surprise! I haven’t seen you for ages.
Jacky: Hello, Bessy. How nice to see you again. How are you?
Bessy: I’m fine. How are you getting on with your work?
Jacky: Well, things at work are going quite well: but I’ve been involved in a whole lot of problems recently that have to do with one of my business trips to Sydney.
Bessy: Business trip to Sydney, oh, that reminds me what I read on a magazine. . .
Jacky: You wouldn’t believe the service some of the airlines provide these days!
Bessy: Do you mean one particular airline?
Jacky: I have traveled extensively with Pan America, Air Japan, Air China and a number of other airlines. But I have never seen one like Continental Airline. You know, being a sales manager, I travel quite a bit in my work, but the trip I made, or rather, that I tried to make, to Sydney last Friday, was, was .. .
Bessy: If I’m not mistaken, it was three weeks ago.
Jacky: Er, yes, that’s right. I’ve been so upset about it, that I can’t remember when things actually happened. Anyway, I was just going up to Sydney for some routine company meetings, and the whole day was totally wasted because of Continental Airline’s handling of their shuttle service on the Canberra-Sydney flight course.
Bessy: But that wasn’t exactly the problem, was it? I mean, airlines aren’t responsible for the poor weather conditions.
Jacky: Well, no. I can’t blame them for the fog but, let me see—oh, yes, then the pilot just circled around for hours and hours and then insisted on going to Melbourne instead, so that we didn’t get back to Sydney until late afternoon, when all my meetings had finished by then and . ..
Bessy: Mm—I think you’ve missed out some important details there—what about the fact that the plane needed to refuel?
Jacky: Well, yes, after all that circling in the air over Sydney, I suppose we were running short of gasoline. Now, what happened next?
