答案     It is generally believed that people with high diplomas are competent and competitive. Some hold the belief that a high diploma means wide knowledge and a bright future. The higher diploma a person has, the better job he is likely to get. As such, chances are that the person will win more admiration.
    Important though a high diploma is, it doesn’t necessarily mean greater knowledge. To a certain extent, a diploma only shows one’s educational experience rather than a guarantee of one’s ability. Therefore, it’s not commonly accepted to measure the depth of one’s knowledge by the grade of one’s diploma. Besides, many a knowledgeable person doesn’t have a high diploma. Take Bill Gates for example. He dropped out of university, which cannot deny the fact that he is one of the most learned men in the world.
    Personally, I don’t think a high diploma equates vast knowledge. A diploma is nothing but a proof of a short-term study while deep knowledge needs our lifelong devotion. In spite of this, one can acquire more knowledge if he concentrates himself on learning while striving for the diploma.
