Mark: Anything interesting in the news?
Linda: Nothing much, just the same old things about politics and celebrity gossip. But there was an accident yesterday on Broad Street.
Mark: What happened?
Linda: A car knocked down the roadside barrier and then run into a tree.
Mark: How come? Was the driver drunk?
Linda: No, he wasn’t.
Mark: Was he speeding then?
Linda: No.
Mark: That’ s curious. Then why did he lose control of the car?
Linda: Because the truck right in front, which was loaded with large boxes, suddenly dropped a box onto the ground. Trying to avoid hitting the box, the driver turned left sharply, which was lucky, because there are five or six people on the side walk on the right.
Mark: Oh! That was scary. Was the driver hurt?
