Welcome everyone!
My name is Amy, and I am the lab supervisor here at Hanford State University. As you all know, you have been assigned to work here as temporary lab assistants, and I hope you will enjoy your assignment this semester. I know that each of you came here by way of a different temporary agency, but for the purposes of accounting, the university has decided to pay you directly. Fortunately, we have already contacted your agencies concerning this matter.
Your paychecks will be issued every other Friday at 11 a.m., and the process is quite simple. The attachment includes a form that lets you choose whether you want your paychecks mailed to your home or held here at the lab for pick-up. Please print it and turn it in as soon as you can. Those picking up their checks can get them in Betty Lei’s office, which is in Room 412 next to the chemistry lab. Ms. Lei is a graduate student who is also working as a lab assistant. She has generously agreed to handle the distribution of paychecks for all the temporary employees. Everyone, including those having their checks mailed to their homes, should drop off their time sheets in Room 412 no later than the last Wednesday of the pay period. Any questions concerning payroll should also be directed to Ms. Lei.
