Membership is needed to access this comprehensive film and television research collection, but it’s worth the effort. Managed by the Australian Film Institute, the Film Library contains over 40,000 works in print, from theses and biographies to film scripts. Be aware though. ** Members are free to handle and read all books contained in the Film Library. Other materials located in the AFI Film Catalog can only be viewed by filling out a Materials Request Form and handing it to a staff member.
** Backpacks and computer bags are not permitted in the Film Library. Lockers are available for a small refundable charge.
