The CTV annual speech contest is a prestige competition with a tradition going back twenty-five years.(74)The winner of the first competition, held in 1981, was Brian McAdams,(75) now a well-known television journalist and anchorman for CTV. We’d like to remind you that the highest standards will be expected of all contestants at all times. However, we’d also like to say that the benefits of participating are enormous even if you don’t win.
