M: Hi, Sheila. Well, out of the final four applications for the editorial assistant position, two candidates look quite qualified. Mr. Buffington worked as a finance writer, and Ms. Gately is familiar with web design. Can we interview them on Friday?
W: Uh, on that day I’ll be at the awards luncheon, and it may run until later in the afternoon. I could possibly interview one of them in the morning, though.
M: How about Thursday, then? I’m free all day. If possible, I’d like each of us to interview the candidates separately, and then compare our impressions.
W: That would work. I’ll arrange for one to come in the morning and the other to come in the afternoon.
