Before we start, let me tell you how we process grapes in order to produce your favorite red wine. Upon collection, the grapes are crushed to form a liquid which is then transferred into large containers, where it settles for a few days. Meanwhile, the sugar and acidity levels are periodically adjusted. A chemical is also added to prevent discoloration and contamination. Finally, the wine is filtered and then put into bottles.
