Before I welcome our guest speaker to the podium, I would like to thank all of you for attending this evening’s lecture. Having become an international celebrity through her humanitarian work in Africa, Dr. Victoria Abel requires no introduction. I first met her when I spent a gap year working as a disaster relief volunteer in Congo. Since then, her dream of creating an alliance of charity nonprofit organizations for Africa has finally come true. As a founding member of Africa Aid United, she is currently based at the alliance’s London headquarters. Now, it is my honor to welcome Dr. Abel to the stage. Please give her a big round of applause.
