Here we are, standing just outside the entrance to St. Matthew’s Cathedral. Before we go inside, I’d like to tell you a bit about this place. The cathedral was designed by architect Julien Blake in 1710, and it remains the most recognizable landmark in Moortown to this day. Until 1975, it was the tallest building in Moortown. The cathedral suffered damage during World War II, and a series of unfortunate, accidental fires have happened over the years. Recently, Donald Pullman, a renowned interior designer, led a large-scale renovation project that helped restore the building to its original condition. You will see numerous beautiful works of art inside the building along with elegant statues and furnishings. Enough talk... Let’s step inside and take a look around.
