We can see that Suntory Company gained 36% of the market share, which enjoys the leading position in the industry. We have discovered that the Suntory Company has got not only a good quality control system with high productivity, but also an effective network of distributions in Shanghai market. Budweiser comes after the Suntory, which got 28. 1 percent in the market share, and it is far ahead of the third company-Qingdao. Though Qingdao beer is popular in the northern part of the country, it does not appeal very much to the people in the south. It only obtained 12. 4 percent of market share in Shanghai during Jan. 2004. Reeb Company ranked the fourth with similar figure to the third, Qingdao; Reeb earned 11.5 percent of market share of sales income.
