TO Logistics is to concerned with the movement of goods from where the goods are stored
BE to the hands of the buyer. As companies progress with their business allies to be
advanced supply chain management, so they accept the tenet that no single firm
can optimally perform all of the functions required for procurement, manufacture,
and delivery. They recognize the need to build a network of response in all the
way to the consumers needs. These companies also accept the reality that, in the
future, their systems must be prepared for to service business customers and
consumers though both physical and cyber channels that have been
e-commerce enabled. In no area is this partner determination more critical
than logistics, where numberless process steps occur, where demands for
placed on manufacturers accelerate at a dizzy pace, and where supply to
chain competency via e-commerce can be of the difference between profit and
loss. As business organizations continue to chase to further improvement
opportunities, without the doubt, supply chain networks will only be as good as their collective logistics systems. It is through a redesign of the logistics, from supply to manufacturing and beyond, that the linkages between demand chain and supply chain can be integrated to result in an effective supply chain network.
