I don’t mind working long hours and having only a few holidays, but I would like a reasonable wage, I’m not asking for a big increase but I do think we ought to be given enough to live on. In the present situation, I can hardly afford to support my family.
I’m not complaining about the wages we receive, although they’re not very good, I can exist on them. It’s the holidays which they give us, or rather don’t give us. Would you believe that we only get one week’s holiday a year! This is far too little, and I’m sure it isn’t right.
