Introduction
This report aims to assess the current staff situation in our department and recommend ways of recruiting staff.
Findings
Our department is experiencing a serious understaffing problem due to the fact that in 2008 we were only able to recruit three new staff whereas six people left our department; it was caused by, as reported by some staff, the fact that employees were unhappy about their career paths here. There is an urgent need for us to employ both administrative staff and IT personnel. The company is promising to offer overseas training opportunities to loyal staff, which provides a great opportunity for us to attract new employees.
Local recruitment agency
The local agency is good at recruiting skilled office staff but not people with specialist IT skills.
Specialist recruitment agency
The IT recruitment agency deals with the entire application and screening process. Although their costs are high, it would enable the company to recruit more quickly.
Conclusion
I suggest we should employ new qualified staff through specialist recruitment agency and it is urgent for our department to employ new staff to balance the normal work.
