Interlocutor:
Thank you. That’s the end of the first part of the test. In the next part you are each going to talk on your own.
Now, I’m going to give each of you a card with two topics. I’d like to choose one topic and talk about it for about one minute. You have one minute to prepare for this. You are allowed to make notes.All right"? Here are your topics.
[Each candidate is handed a different topic card , and some paper and a pencil for notes.]
Interlocutor:
Choose one of the topics and prepare to talk about it. Remember you can make notes if you wish.
[1 minute’s preparation time. Both candidates prepare their talks at the same time, separately.]
Interlocutor:
All right now. * B, which topic have you chosen , A, or B ? So would you like to talk about what you think is important when looking for a new job?
[B talks.]
There are many factors to be considered, because looking for a new job means a lot for a person, especially for youth. Firstly, I will take the career opportunities into my consideration.
The new job should provide me with many good opportunities for my forward development. For example, I want to expand my customers and my business scope what is more important is the skills of doing business. In other words, I hope I can learn something useful from my new job. Secondly, I will pay attention to the payment. Everybody will consider that I think. Thirdly, as I like business trip, I wish that there will be possibility of making business trip, which can broaden my horizons. That’s all. Thank you.
Interlocutor:
Thank you. Now, A, what do you think is the most important ?
[A replies.]
I think the most important thing when looking for a new job is the career opportunities. Just like what B has said, I work not only because of money, but also because of my interest and the potentialities of my forward development.Thank you. All right. Now, * A, which topic have you chosen , A, or B ? So would you like to talk about what you think is important when preparing an interview?
[A talks.]
The interview is a very important road to enter a new company. So we should prepare for it in earnest. As I should fully show the interviewer my capability and personality, details are important. Firstly, I should state my work experience clearly. Next, neat dressing is necessary, which can give interviewers a good impression. As you know, the first impression is very important. Finally, we should learn some interviewing skills, such as how to be confident, how to talk clearly and concisely, how to leave interviewers a deep impression. That’s all. Thank you.
Thank you. Now, * B, which do you think is the most important ?
[B replies.]
I quite agree with A. Yes, details are very important. We should pay attention to our speaking, dressing and behaviour. What I want to emphasize is that we should show our real character. Therefore, we can find a right company, and the company can choose a right employee.
