W: So, Alison. Do you know what you want?
M: I’m not sure. The chicken sounds nice, but so does the fish. What about you?
W: Well, I think I’m going to have the fish.
M: OK. I’ll have that, too.

Two: How will Oliver dispatch the order ?
[pause]
M: Purchasing.
W: Dover Tools here. About your order, how would you like it sent?
M: Well, road is probably cheapest, isn’t it?
W: Yes, but it’ll take 10 days. Is there a rail depot near you?
M: No, there isn’t. I suppose you’d better put it on the plane, then... it’s urgent.

M: Hello, can I help you?
W: Hello, yes, my name’s Jane Kelly. I’m looking for Mr Brown.
M: Oh, I’m sorry he’s not here... do you have an appointment?
W: No, I don’t... I was just passing the factory, so I thought I’d come in and show him our new samples... never mind... tell him I called, and I’ll come back another time.
M: Fine, I’ll give him your message,

Four: What is Peter’s job title?

W: So, you work in Sales, don’t you, Peter? Ms Sort of, I’m actually in the Marketing Department.
W: Oh I see. And what do you do there?
M: I’m the Manager,

Five: Where are they going to take the visitors?
[pause]
W: Where should we take the visitors this evening?
M: Good question. What kind of food will they like?
W: I know a place that serves great Asian food.
M: Not everyone likes spicy food, though. I know a place that does great pasta. Why don’t we go there?
W: OK.

Six: What will be ordered?
[pause]
W: Well, we need some desks for our new office. Now, is catalogue number 8001 the typical desk? M: Yes, that’s right. It costs $ 75.

Seven: Which electric game do most people like?
[pause]
M: There seems to be an increasing demand for electronic games of all kinds.
W: Yes, our own game, "Cops" is doing extremely well. We sell over 1,000 disks each month.
M: I know, but the favorite game at present is "Road Racer") This is produced by Miga, our chief competitor.
W: Large numbers of "Road Racer". That’s even more than "Dark Enemy", the previous favorite, which at one time reaches about 2500 sales a month,

Eight: What does the man think should be sold for developing new markets?
[pause]
W: Developing new markets is never easy, Bill, and if we’re going to get faster growth by selling tennis shoes in addition to running shoes, then we should take the idea seriously.
M: I still think we could get a big slice of the Japanese sports clothes market—they expect quality, that’s what we offer.
