     There was once a time almost every intellectual wanted to go abroad to study, work or live. But the situation seems quite the opposite nowadays——a great many overseas academicians now choose to return to China to crave out their careers after achieving their degrees.
     There are some reasons accounting for these scholars’ returning. First of all, as we can see, China is becoming more and more prosperous in the world and better working and living circumstances axe being provided to people with excellent capabilities. So it is a wise choice to return to China. Secondly, it is their loyalty to motherland that impels them to contribute their intelligence, energy and youth to China. We cannot deny the fact that no matter where you go, you would never forget your homeland where you have been brought up.
     The advantage this phenomenon brings about is not only significant but also potential to both China and the scholars themselves. As far as China’s development is concerned, China, which has just entered the 21st century, is at a critical stage at present to engage successfully in international affairs. People with advanced knowledge are needed to help with the process of modernization. Having learned abroad theories and techniques in the highest flight in the world, returning scholars are able to apply their knowledge to the economic and social practice in China. And this would avail China’s modernization construction to a large extent, for so much as they could bring leading theoretic knowledge and notions that China just needs badly. When it comes to the returning scholars themselves, choosing to come back is wise as well. Since we have entered WTO, excellent people are endowed with more and more opportunities to exert their talents. By all aspects, working inside China is of great benefits to personal development of these returning scholars.
     Improvement in working, living and entertaining environment is only a threshold of attracting overseas exports to return to China. There is no doubt that in the near future, more and more countrymen will come back home after finishing their study abroad to dedicate themselves to building China as a prosperous  and strong country in the world.
