    Now, with the increasing number of people to travel the term "culture shock" has already begun to creep into the popular vocabulary. Cohere shock is what happens when a traveler suddenly finds himself or herself in a place where "yes" may mean "no’, where a "fixed price" is negotiable, where laughter may signify anger. It is what happens when the familiar psychological cues that help an individual to function in society are suddenly withdrawn and replaced by new ones that are strange or incomprehensible. Culture shock is the effect that immersion in a strange culture has on the unprepared visitor.
    Culture shock has its own symptoms. When individuals enter a strange culture, they are like a fish out of water. No matter how broad-minded or full of goodwill they may be, they are followed by a feeling of frustration and anxiety. They reject the environment which causes the discomfort. They grouse about the host people. They complain that the host people are indifferent to their troubles such as house troubles, transportation troubles, shopping troubles and so on, that the host people are unsympathetic to their worries. They become hostile and aggressive toward the host people.
    What should we do when we suffer from culture shock? In my opinion, I think that we should adjust ourselves to the new surroundings. We should get some knowledge of the customs of the host people and accept them as just another way of living. We should operate within the new surroundings without a feeling of anxiety. In a word, we should do in Rome as Rome does.
