答案                    Is Knowledge Always Power?
    Knowledge is a two-edged sword, with its intrinsic advantages and disadvantages. Knowledge not only needs to be reviewed and renewed, but it also needs to be used properly and rationally. It is generally believed that, if improperly employed, knowledge means potential crimes.
    In the 20th century, technology sometimes seemed intent on destroying the environment, bringing us smog-producing cars, toxic waste, and polluted air and waters. But as a new millennium approaches, technology has the potential to help clean up the ecological mess. We are on the verge of a "green revolution" in the way automobiles are fueled and energy is generated. And, best of all, the revolution may be relatively painless, with consumers needing to sacrifice comfortable lifestyles.
    The following counter-measures, in my view, must be valued highly. Genetic engineering and plant manipulation will reduce the harmful impacts of agriculture on the environment. Crops will be engineered to be more resistant to pests and to use their nutrients more efficiently. In doing so, farmers can reduce the need for pesticides and fertilizers, all of which are major causes of water pollution. Cars, computers, plastics and paper will, become more biodegradable or recyclable. Cars will be built by modular parts that can be removed and reused.
