答案     In my family, we have regular gatherings in Chinese New Year and other festivals. However, last summer we gathered in my grandfather’s house to celebrate the birth of my nephew, the son of my youngest cousin.
    The whole family were thrilled and overjoyed for this little three-month-old baby. Everyone was trying to hold the baby and busy taking photos with him. He was so tiny and his hands could only get hold of one of my fingers. Although he was still too small to open his eyes or talk to us, I could feel the connection between him and this family from his look, his warmth and his giggles. I spent most of my childhood in my grandfather’s house, and my nephew will be going to grow up in this house. This makes me so happy, and at the same time reminds me to be a good uncle that the little one would look up to in the future.
    It was a special gathering because my cousin’s having a baby means that we are having four generations in the family and that symbolises a great blessing for the whole family. Other cousins and their family came all the way from different cities to our hometown and brought along their wishes, gifts or lucky money for the little baby. Unlike throwing a baby shower before the baby’s coming in the West, the Chinese normally have a big family reunion when the baby is 100 days old. They celebrate it at home or in restaurant, depending on how many relatives or friends are invited. In my family, it’s our tradition to have a family meal at grandpa’s at the baby’s 100 days. We enjoyed a wonderful time.
