On the positive side, the promotion of foreign festivals can broaden local people’s horizons and increase mutual understanding. While on the negative side, many people start to worry about identity issue. They’re concerned that our young generations are overwhelmed with foreign festivals and they may forget or even slight traditional festivals. They may consider the latter to be outdated and boring. What’s worse, maybe they won’t take pride in our culture anymore. Luckily, most young people I know tend to celebrate both festivals. With proper education and guidance, we can enjoy both foreign and domestic festivals and cushion the adverse influences.
