答案 After the massive earthquake hit Nepal, China immediately extended a helping hand by sending a number of relief and medical teams and offering emergency relief supplies to Nepal. China’s International Rescue Team was racing against time to search and rescue survivors. Even if there was only 1 percent of hope of survival, they would make 100 percent efforts.
Up to May 3, Chinese medical teams in Nepal had received 2, 234 patients, treated more than 1, 000 injured people, trained a large number of medical staff, and helped Nepal work out a medical plan on epidemic prevention. The 646 tons of disaster relief supplies provided by the Chinese government and the Chinese military have arrived in Nepal. At the request of the Nepali side, the Chinese military sent three helicopters to Nepal to carry out airlift and relief operations. The Red Cross Society of China has also sent 20 rescue workers and provided 2, 000 tents to Nepal.
The Nepali leaders have repeatedly expressed gratitude to China for its generous assistance. They said that the central and local governments as well as the people of China had provided massive emergency supplies to Nepal. The assistance was timely and very effective. The love and care given by China is keenly felt by the people of Nepal. The Chinese rescue and medical teams did an excellent job. They worked closely with the Nepalese side and worked around the clock to save lives. China is indeed a true friend of Nepal.
The quake-related operation in Nepal has shifted from search and rescue to post-disaster reconstruction. In the next stage, China will continue to provide Nepal with assistance of various forms including medical treatment and epidemic prevention and post-disaster reconstruction.
