US President George W. Bush says he recognizes human beings contribute to global climate change but he remains unyielding in his opposition to the Kyoto Accord on the issue. Bush made the remarks on Wednesday before the G8 summit in Scotland, saying the Kyoto Accord does not work because many developing nations are not included. He added that he would push for a post-Kyoto era at the summit. Climate change is a top-of-the- agenda issue at the G8 meeting. The United States, the world’s biggest polluter, is the only one at the summit not to have signed the treaty to cut emissions of carbon dioxide.
