It relates to our work, our play, and our relationships with one another. It can make us dance and even help us fall in love. The oldest music is probably vocal music. Almost every culture has work songs, lullabies, love sons, and ballads in its folk music. What is background music? Background music is music used to provide a pleasant, atmosphere by conversation or other activities in lounges, bars, elevators, lobbies, or waiting rooms. It is usually instrumental music, such as movie theme songs, light modern jazz, or contemporary classical.
   The background music is popular. Many people, especially for the students, like to listen to the background music. Companies pay millions of dollars every year for background music. It s supposed to give you a better feeling about yourself and the people around you. Factories use it a lot. It makes the workers happy, and they work better that way. Humorously, farmers use it to keep their calm. It seems that the background music has an effect on the animal and plants.
   There are many advantages for you to listen to the background music. It makes one feel happy if you have something complaining. Besides, it puts one in the right mood, relaxes one’s nerves regulates the work pace.
   However, the harmful thing caused by the background music isn’t ignored. If you are a student, how can you concentrate on a book. If you are a driver, it’s more dangerous for you to listen to the background. While driving, it will make you distract. Many traffic accidents are caused by it.
   In a word, we had better appreciate music in a harmonious, quiet atmosphere.
