To whom it may concern,
   This morning I received a phone call from home, telling me that my mother has been seriously ill and desired to see me. I am the only child of my family. It is natural for her to have a strong desire to see me when in illness. Under such circumstances I will have to ask for leave of one week including a two days’ journey on the way. As it is an urgent matter, I hope I could be granted leave of absence.
