A series of organized bombings in the northern Nigerian city of Kano have left at least 120 people dead. The attacks on Friday targeted police stations and government buildings. The extremist group Boko Haram has claimed responsibility for the attacks. A 24-hour curfew is in place in Kano, Nigeria’s second largest city. A VOA reporter says that over a period of 90 minutes, he counted more than 24 explosions in the city. A spokesman for Boko Haram said the bombings were in answer to the arrest of several members of the group in Kano.
