答案                          Should Everyone Study History?
     It is necessary for everyone to study history. History is not only a systematic study of what people did or what happened to them in the past but also a way of looking at the past. It informs us of the experience of our ancestors and offers us lessons they had learnt.
     We learn from history by inheriting our ancestor’s legacy and try to avoid repeating their mistakes and do things better. As an ancient Chinese philosopher suggested," Studying history makes people wise. "To study history is particularly important to Chinese, for China is a country with more than two thousand years of history. History offers us insights into our country and our people. Lenin once pointed out that forgetting the past is betrayal. If we forget or are ignorant of the past of our country, we are in effect betraying her. From the history of our country in the past two centuries, we learn that a poor nation will be bullied by the superpowers while a strong and advanced one can survive among the nations of the world.
     Therefore, a history course should be offered to students at schools and universities. A study of history will not only broaden their horizon of knowledge, but also help them develop a right conception of seeing things. With a sense of history in mind we learn the experience from our ancestors and avoid the past mistakes in making our decisions.
