    In recent years, people witness an expansion of postgraduate enrollment. Some people are in favor of the expansion while others take an opposite side. As far as I am concerned, the increase of postgraduate enrollment has both advantages and disadvantages.
    On the one hand, the expansion can lead to desirable results. Firstly, enlarging enrollment of college and university can in the short term relieve the unemployment pressure, especially during the recent economic crisis, since in China, we have the largest number of undergraduates in the world. Secondly, the expansion conduces to the improvement of graduate schools in terms of their enrollment policies, master programs and so on.
    On the other hand, the large-scale expanding enrollment of college and university can result in the decline of teaching quality and postgraduates’ quality. For example, many companies find that the overall quality of postgraduates is a far cry from what they have originally expected. Therefore, it is quite clear that the expansion of national postgraduate enrollment has merits as well as demerits. However, we should admit that the former outweighs the latter, so I suggest that schools should make the most of instructional facilities to enroll more students, but the quality of instruction should not be lowered on that account.
