    It is said that we can know someone by the company he keeps. Similarly, I would say that we can know someone by the hobbies he pursues. Hobbies are actually quite important for those who deal with a lot of pressure at work and in life.
    First of all, hobbies provide us with an option to get "distracted" from the tension at work. For instance, some senior executives take some time to play golf or do other sports, even though they have a full schedule, because hobbies can carry them away from the deadlock in business. Hobbies can relax their mind and recharge them to fight the next battle. Secondly, hobbies reward us with a variety of knowledge. Some people love collecting stamps and they learn a lot about the festivals and historical events. Some people take gardening as a hobby and they acquire basic information about different kinds of plants. It is fair to say that hobbies are opening doors for us, through which we can go into a diverse and colorful world.
    In conclusion, having hobbies helps us take a "time-out" from work and gain a wealth of knowledge. It is never too late to take up a new hobby.
