    In the picture, a sprout is growing up, but is blocked by a huge rock, which serves as a symbol of "exam-oriented education". This picture intends to criticize the harm that exam-oriented education is doing to young students.
    In my opinion, exam-oriented education hinders students’ development by killing their creativity and curiosity for knowledge. First, under the backdrop of exam-oriented education, a good many teachers would ask students to recite the answers to the exam questions. As a result, students’ creativity is substituted by rote learning. Second, as a major portion of schooling time is devoted to exams, students often experience high levels of stress and anxiety, as well as intense frustration. Bit by bit, they would consider learning extremely boring and torturing. Trapped in the desert of exams, students are no longer curious about the wonderland of knowledge, but rather fed up with it.
    In conclusion, exam-oriented education swallows up students’ creativity and curiosity by endless rote memorization of answers, which should be reformed as soon as possible.
