    I know you have been interested in history since schooldays. However, as a practical person and your friend, I would advise you to take up computer science. There are several reasons for this. Firstly, university training is a preparation for your future career. Therefore, when you choose your major, you have to think about its prospect—whether it will ensure your establishment and continuous development in society. Computer science will offer you much wider job opportunities. History, however fascinating it may be, offers far fewer career prospects. Secondly, in the age of science and technology, it is necessary for one to be computer-literate. In fact, the computer is playing an increasingly important role in our lives. If you choose computer science as your major, I am sure you can enjoy far better career prospects than you can with history.
