                                                                                 December 26               Dear President,
    I’m a junior in our university.  I’m writing to intimate something unsatisfactory to you in our library.
    Firstly, I have to say that our library is covered with dust of ages. The books, the bookshelves, the desks and chairs and even the doors all are dimmed by thick dust. Waste tissues and paper are scattered all over the desks and floors for every student has to dust the desks and chairs with several tissues or pieces of paper before he sits down to read. But to our amazement, the library staff just sit there, reading their newspapers, as if it were not their duty to clean this poor library.
    Secondly, a large number of books in our library are too old to serve us. Most of them are out of date. Some others are dilapidated. What’s worse is that the books are left at random. We have to search here and there to look for books we need while the library staff are busy chatting with each other.
    Thirdly, we find that we can hardly find a useful book for our English study. Most of the vast numbers of English books are serious textbooks for majors of science.  We cannot find anything interesting to entertain ourselves.
    Lastly, some students are too noisy, talking among themselves and leaving mobile phone beeping anytime.
    You know, the library is the place we are most proud of and where we like to spend most of our time. And I believe you understand how much our library weighs in our minds. These undesirable things have already done damage to the fame of our university and caused a lot of inconvenience to the users.
    Dear President, we do hope that something can be done to change the current situation. Let our cozy, quiet, effective library come back.
