Quiet, please. May I have all of your attention? We need to get this meeting started because we have a lot to do before graduation. My name is Teresa Gonzales, and I am the chairperson of the graduation committee for this year. I appreciate you all electing me as your chairperson and I will do my best to make sure we have a great graduation ceremony. I just need all of your cooperation to get everything running smoothly.
    You have all been selected as representatives for your departments to plan the graduation ceremony. planning this event is very important and you should all feel honored that your classmates thought so highly of you. Right now, a sheet of paper is going around that I need you all to fill out. Please write down your name, telephone number, and what section of the ceremony you would like to help organize. Please keep in mind that all the parts of the ceremony require a great deal of time and dedication. So please sign up only for a section you have time for.
    When everyone has signed the paper with their name, telephone number, and section, please place the paper on my desk. At our next meeting On Friday, we will break up in groups and get to work on everything. Start thinking about ideas for how you want to organize your small committees before then. See you on Friday.
