    A variety of redundant gifts, including tobacco, wine, brand watches and so on, flood the markets, especially following the Spring Festival and other major festivals, which spurs the unregulated gift-recycling industry. Not only the recipients of expensive yet unwanted gifts turn to the gift-recycling business for help, but those hoping to buy decent gifts at lower prices resort to these recycling stores as well.
    Many a reason may account for this phenomenon. First of all, holiday gift sending has become such a common practice that it gives birth to this recycling business. What’s more important is the profit that can be gained in the transactions for the business dealers. Even with a customer driving a hard bargain, a single transaction will at least bring the gift recycler a bigger profit than an ordinary sale. With the number of such transactions growing every year, gift recycling has evolved into a very lucrative business.
    As far as I’m concerned, gift-recycling business bears a bright prospect. However, efforts have to be made to direct it to the correct path. It is of urgent importance to define what gifts can be recycled and enact laws to regulate the business.
