    The campus is usually regarded as a safe place. Ironically enough, burglary, theft, murder and sexual assault are frequently happening on campus in recent years. Crimes committed on campus have aroused wide concern.
    There are various reasons for it. The primary reason is that students with low attainment at school tend to impress others by doing something "heroic" such as carrying guns or bullying others. Moreover, some students who have psychological problems due to intense stress in life may also be involved in anti-social behaviors.
    Campus crimes can be prevented if precautions and effective measures are taken. For one thing, school security organizations should be responsible for students’ safety by, for example, checking school identification of both residents and guests before letting anyone go into the dorm. For another, students are advised to be cautious on campus. For instance, they should not walk or go to parties alone at night. In addition, school authorities should encourage students to report bullies and offer timely help to victims. I firmly believe that the combination of the measures mentioned above will definitely help curb campus crimes.
