问题     For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write an essay commenting on the remark "The value of a man should be seen in what he gives and not in what he is able to receive. " You can cite examples to illustrate your point. You should write at least 150 words but no more than 200 words.

答案                         The Value of a Man
    In my opinion, the value of a man consists of two aspects: first, personal responsibility and contribution to the society, i.e. what he gives, or social value: second, individual needs being respected or satisfied by the society, i.e., what he is able to receive, or self-value.
    Social value and self-value are inextricably linked. Individuals contribute to the society and promote social development, which has laid the foundation for self-value: while reasonable request from the society can inspire greater initiative and creativity, so that individuals will make greater contribution to the society.
    Of course the real value of a man lies in his contribution to the society. If everybody only cares about requesting from society and enjoying himself without making any contributions, what will be left for you to enjoy? Therefore, the remark "The value of a man should be seen in what he gives and not in what he is able to receive." has much truth in it though cannot be totally agreed upon.
