    The two charts show the striking changes in college students’ job market. From the charts we can see that the number of graduates who continue to study is growing steadily; the percentage of graduates who take jobs irrelevant to their majors rises from 7% in 2004 to 30% in 2012, while that of those whose jobs are related to their majors decreases dramatically from 89% to 58%.
    The obvious changes are chiefly due to the following reasons. To start with, more and more college graduates find it necessary to study further before entering the tough job market. Besides, too many college students choose popular majors, but the market cannot offer so many related opportunities. Furthermore, some universities fail to modify their curricula to suit the economic development, so some courses are outdated and impractical.
    Based on the above analysis, we can conclude that college students should try to meet the needs of the job market if they want to find a suitable job. They should be careful to choose majors, and the authorities in universities need to reform their course system to satisfy the demands of the changing society.
