    However, compared with the eye-catching performances of competitive sports, mass sports activities in China remains poor. For one thing, the awareness of physical fitness is not strong enough for many people, who usually ignore exercising. For another, existing sports facilities opened to the public can’t meet the needs of people’s physical activities due to inadequacy or high fees.
    Therefore, practical and effective measures are expected to reinforce the implementation of the National Fitness Program. First of all, the government should invest more in installing fitness equipment with reasonable charges throughout the country. In addition, it is right for the famous sports champions to guide the public in keeping fit through sports. To sum up, joint efforts should be made to promote the development of mass sports.
