答案 Dear Mayor,
    I am a second year college student. I feel honored and obliged to (1) write to you about the traffic problems in the city.
    Recently, the city’s traffic is getting worse and worse. A lot of people complain that the city has become a big parking lot because in the rush hours(2), cars are jammed on the road and can hardly move. This will undoubtedly have a negative effect on(3) the city. On the one hand, with people spending so much time on traffic, their efficiency is greatly lowered and on the other, irritated by the jam(4), some drivers get impatient, angry and as a result, some of them display bad driving manners(5), which in turn causes more traffic problems.
    Traffic conditions can also affect a city’s image, which is linked to the investment environment and hence the economy(6). Therefore, it is important to solve this problem in time. First, the government can control the number of cars by raising relevant costs(7); second, we could better(8) the conditions and service of the public transport system and encourage people to take the public transport instead of driving the private car; third, we should improve the traffic management.
